My first blog post

Welcome to blog! This is my very first blog post and I’m so excited! Before getting into all the fun pet stuff, let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I’m a very sweet retired greyhound. I was born in Arizona and did my racing career in Tijuana, Mexico. Yes, I’m one of those running dogs that you might have seen on television. I raced 64 times and won a total of 3 races. A few months ago I retired and was brought to Southern California by a wonderful organization called Fast Friends. They helped me find a foster home where I lived for a short time along with a number of other greyhounds. My foster family had fostered over 100 greyhounds over the years and they were such a lovely couple. I’m flattered to tell you that they thought I was a very special greyhound. I think my pet mum and pet dad thought so too, because when they met me for the first time they both knew immediately that I was the one dog for them. I think my pet mum liked the kisses I gave her and my pet dad loved my grins from the very first moment. Yes, I’m a grinner. When I’m excited I lift up my nose and show my teeth.
A sunny Saturday morning, just a couple of days after I met my pet mum and pet dad for the first time, they came to pick me up. I was a bit nervous during the car ride and when we arrived at the house I had to sniff in every corner and wherever my nose could reach to get familiar with my new home. My pet parents had bought a wonderful bed for me, but at first I preferred to lay on the floor. It wasn’t until they carefully put my paws in the bed I understood how comfortable it was. Now the bed is one of my favorite places. I just love it!
Below are some images from the day I was brought to my forever home.
So that was a little bit about me. In the next blog post I’ll be telling you about my sister who joined our family a few months later. I hope to see you back next week for some more pet talk.
Roooooo! (That’s how we greyounds sing.)

At first I preferred to lay on the floor...
…but when I realized how comfortable my new bed was, it quickly became my favorite place.
I loooooove my bed!
