The importance of a nap

People oftentimes think we greyhounds require a lot of exercise, but humans who know us would tell you differently.

Don’t misunderstand me, Aston and I love our long morning walks and we are wagging our tails off whenever it’s time to go out. However, in between walks we take a lot of naps. My pet mum would probably say that we are sleeping throughout the day, but I would describe it as many, many long naps.

Personally, I think it’s very important to nap. It recharges both your body and your brain, so you can be alert whenever needed. We were actually bred for being explosive rather than perseverant. A perfect example of our explosiveness is when we lay in our bed napping and our pet mum says “daddy” (which means our pet dad is coming home). Aston and I are on our paws and by the door to greet him in no time.

One of my favorite ways to nap is with my toys. Below is a picture my mum took this morning when I was napping with my shark.

So my advice to all pets and humans out there is: take a nap every now and then. I know you’ll enjoy it.

Can’t wait to see you in a couple of weeks.

Roooooo! (That’s how we greyhounds sing.)
